Daybook ("the app") is a habit-tracking app that keeps all of your habit data on your device. This policy explains what data is and is not collected.
Information we collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. Every habit, completion, and setting you configure in the app is saved locally on your device and never leaves it. Backups and CSV exports are files you create yourself and save wherever you choose — we never receive them.
Usage analytics & crash reports
Daybook uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, both provided by Google, to collect anonymous usage statistics — such as which screens are opened and when a habit is created or marked done — and crash reports, which help us understand how the app is used and fix bugs. These never include habit names or anything you type, and are not linked to your identity: Daybook has no account, and no name or email is ever attached. Firebase uses a random app instance identifier and may record your approximate location (country or region) and device information such as model and OS version. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
This is enabled by default but can be turned off at any time: Settings → Share anonymous usage & crash reports.
Advertising
The app displays ads served by Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, and app-open ad formats). AdMob may collect and use your device's Advertising ID (Android) or IDFA (iOS) to show personalised ads. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
On iOS, the app presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt on first launch. If you deny tracking, the app continues to function normally and AdMob serves non-personalised ads instead.
You can opt out of personalised ads at any time through your device settings:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable for this app
Permissions
The app requests the following permissions:

| Receive boot completed | To reschedule your habit reminders if the device restarts. |
| Internet | To load ads from Google AdMob and send anonymous usage analytics and crash reports (if enabled). |
Children's Privacy
Daybook is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. The app contains advertising served by Google AdMob, which is not permitted in child-directed apps under COPPA or GDPR-K.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date.
